Something we commonly see when people struggle to keep thew water chemistry balanced is that they initially filled the Plunge with unfiltered well water.
This can also lead to a build up of calcium which will result is damaging the pump. 
We recommend using an ion exchange filter, like this, to filter the water before filling the Plunge if you are on well water.
