How to Temporarily Remove the Red Light Panel

Need to take the red light panel off for cleaning, storage, or to let someone else use the sauna without it? The panel is designed to be removed and reattached quickly without disturbing the wiring that runs through the floor. The whole process takes about five minutes.

Note: This guide assumes the red light panel is already fully installed. If you haven’t installed it yet, see the How to Install the Red Light Therapy Panel guide first.

Step 1: Disconnect the Power Cord

Locate the barrel connector on the red light panel’s power cord. It sits just after the coiled section of cord that comes out of the panel itself — a short, cylindrical connector where two sections of cord meet.

  1. Hold the connector steady. Grip one half of the barrel connector firmly in one hand.
  2. Twist and pull. With your other hand, rotate the middle section of the connector 90 degrees and then pull the two halves apart. The cord will separate at this point, leaving one end running into the floor and the other attached to the panel.

Step 2: Tuck the Floor-Side Cord Away

With the panel disconnected, the cord end that runs into the floor is now loose. Tuck it away cleanly so it’s not sitting out when the panel is removed.

  1. Remove the floor cover and grommet. Lift the wooden floor cover next to the tower heater. Remove the rubber floor grommet from the opening.
  2. Feed the cord down. Push the loose cord end down through the floor opening so it drops below the sauna.
  3. Reinstall the grommet and cover. Press the grommet back into the floor opening, then replace the wooden floor cover. Orient it so the mousehole cutout faces away from the UI panel and the cord sits cleanly within the cutout.

Step 3: Remove the Panel

  1. Lift the panel off the door mounts. The red light panel hangs on keyhole-slot mounts on the glass door. Lift the panel straight up until the slots release from the mounting hardware, then pull it away from the door.

Reinstalling the Panel

Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. Hang the panel back on the door mounts, remove the floor cover and grommet, pull the cord end back up through the floor, reconnect the barrel connector by aligning the halves and rotating 90 degrees until they lock, then replace the grommet and floor cover.

Once reconnected, remember to activate the red light outlet — press and hold Accent + Chromotherapy for 3 seconds with the sauna powered on to restore power to the panel.
