Auto Doser Probe Recalibration Instructions

  • Updated

These instructions are to walk through how to recalibrate the auto doser probe on both the Plunge All-In Commercial + Auto Doser and Plunge All-In Commercial Max unit.

Please have on hand:

  • Chemical Safe Gloves
  • Chemical Safe Cup
  • Towel
  • Recalibration Chemical Kit Packets
    • One Red Packet (pH 4.01)
    • One Green Packet (pH 7.01)
    • One Black Packet (470 mV ORP Test Solution)

Instructions:

  1. Pause the tub for at least 45 minutes. (This process should only take around 15 minutes, but err on the side of caution)
  2. Close both colored ball valves below the auto doser controller.
  3. Remove the silver connection collar from the auto doser controller that connects the auto doser probe to the controller. (The purpose of taking it on and off through this process is to make sure not to tangle and twist the wire)
  4. Grab the cup and hold it underneath the auto doser probe as you unscrew and remove it. This will catch the water that was trapped in the manifold.
  5. Set the auto doser probe in the cup you have on hand or propped in the skimmer so the auto doser probe remains wet. The probe cannot be left out of water for more than 15 minutes.
  6. Re-connect the silver connection collar to the auto doser controller.

Calibrate pH

  1. Starting with the 7.01 pH solution (green packet)
  2. Press “Menu” on the auto doser controller
  3. Scroll to and press “pH options” on the screen.
  4. Press the left blue circle button underneath “CAL” to select it.
  5. Grab the probe and shake the excess water off.
  6. Open the 7.01 pH packet and place the probe into the packet, fully submerging the end in the chemicals.
  7. Hold the probe upright and steady in the packet until the probe stabilizes and you see “CFM” which stands for “Confirm” pop up on the lower right hand corner of the screen. Please note: Stabilization should take approximately 1-2 minutes.
  8. Press the right blue circle button under “CFM” once it appears.
  9. Place the probe back into the water.
  10. You should see the screen change to begin stage two of the calibration process using the 4.01 pH solution (red packet).
  11. Open the 4.01 pH packet and place the probe into the packet, fully submerging the end in the chemicals.
  12. Hold the probe upright and steady in the packet until the probe stabilizes and you see “CFM” which stands for “Confirm” pop up on the lower right hand corner of the screen. Please note: Stabilization should take approximately 1-2 minutes.
  13. Press the right blue circle button under “CFM” once it appears.
  14. Place probe back into the water
  15. Once both pH calibration stages are done, it will say “calibration complete” and go back to the list of options.

Please note: The chemical readings should be relatively close to the pack calibration numbers. The green packet calibration should be close to 7.01 and the red packet calibration should be close to 4.01.

Calibrate ORP

  1. Scroll to and press “ORP Set Up” on the screen.
  2. Press the left blue circle button underneath “CAL” to select it.
  3. Open the black 470 mV ORP Test Solution packet and place the probe into the packet, fully submerging the end in the chemicals.
  4. Using the up and down arrows, change the ORP setting to match the packet at 470 mV. Please note: If you press and hold the arrows, it will rapidly move the mV number up or down.
  5. Wait until the mV number stops moving and “CFM” shows up in the lower right hand corner. This should take 1-2 minutes.
  6. Press “CFM”.

Once Calibration Is Completed

  • Press “Menu”
  • Remove the silver connection collar from the auto doser controller.
  • Rinse the probe off in the tub water.
  • Install the auto doser probe back into its original location in the PVC injector manifold.
  • Re-connect the silver connection collar back into the auto doser controller.
  • Once the probe is secured, open the colored ball valves again to allow water flow into the injector manifold.
  • Unpause the tub.
  • Turn the auto doser controller off and back on again using the rocker switch on the left hand side of the controller to reboot the system.
  • Dispose of the open chemical packets in the trash.

Allow the Plunge to run for at least 3 hours to re-stabilize before allowing anyone to use it.
