Plunge Sauna – General Safety Warnings
Use Warnings
- /!\ RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH Read and follow all warnings and instructions to reduce the risk of serious injury or death. Retain these warnings and instructions for future use.
- /!\ BURN HAZARD. Never touch the heater or the heater rocks when the sauna is operating or before it has thoroughly cooled down after use.
- /!\ HYPERTHERMIA RISK. Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches several degrees above normal body temperature. The symptoms include dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting.
The effects of hyperthermia include:- Failure to perceive heat
- Failure to recognize the need to exit the sauna
- Unawareness of impending hazard
- Physical inability to exit the room
- Fatal damage to pregnant people
- Unconsciousness
- Consult your healthcare providers before using the sauna, especially if you faint easily, are pregnant, are unsteady on your feet, or have any other health condition that could make using a sauna risky for you.
- The sauna is for adults over 18 ONLY. Keep children and pets away from the sauna. Never allow children to play in or near the sauna.
- The sauna is not an endurance test. Take frequent breaks while using the sauna and be sure to hydrate. Do not use the sauna for more than 10 minutes until you know how your body reacts. Never exceed 30 min inside the sauna in one session. This may result in hyperthermia, dehydration, dizziness, and nausea, which could lead to injury or even death.
- Do not use alcohol or drugs before or during your use of the sauna. These can increase the risk of hyperthermia.
- If at any time during operation you feel dizzy or faint stop using the sauna immediately and contact a medical specialist.
- Fire hazard. Never place any objects on the heater. Do not use the sauna for drying clothes, towels, bathing suits, or similar items.
- Fire hazard. If using the Plunge app to remotely turn on the unit, ensure there is nothing on or near the heater
- Fire hazard. Do not mount or place any accessory or item above our within 12 inches of the heater
- Ensure you have the required minimum amperage on a dedicated circuit for your sauna as defined in the provided manual.
- Use only tap water on the stones. Pool or spa water can create dangerous chlorine gas.
- Follow all use instructions in the HUUM Heater manual.
- Electrocution hazard. Do not attempt to repair any electrical components on your own. Electrical components may only be repaired by a licensed electrician or trained service provider.
Assembly Warnings
- /!\ Read all warnings and instructions before you begin assembling the sauna.
- /!\ HEAVY LOADS The components for the Sauna can weigh up to 150 lbs. Assembly requires at least two people. Lift components with care. Do not allow children or pets in the room while assembling the Sauna.
- Visually inspect all components, including the heaters, to make sure they were not damaged during transport. Contact Plunge customer service by visiting plunge.com/contact if you see any damaged components.
- Installation of the Sauna requires a licensed electrician.
- Follow all HUUM Heater instructions for assembling, installing, and using the heater.
- The unoccupied sauna weighs approximately 1,400 lbs. Make sure the floor in the designated space can support the weight of the sauna including occupants.
- When assembled, the side vent is located by the door. The side vent must remain unobstructed at all times.
- Clearance from the front of the sauna once assembled must be at least 24” to allow the door to open fully.
- Children and pets must be kept away from the sauna at all times. [BG2] Choose a location where you can prevent access by children and pets.
- Follow all installation instructions. Do not make any modifications to the sauna. Do not use the sauna until it has been fully assembled and installed.
- Keep the sauna away from water sources. Avoid using near sinks, bathtubs, pools, or other areas where water is present.
- Please do not place tempered glass panels or doors on concrete, metal, or other hard surfaces. Risk of breaking.
