Winterizing the All-In Residential

Read Before Continuing on with Winterizing Your All-In Plunge

The only guaranteed way to ensure your Plunge does not experience damage due to freezing conditions is to bring your plunge into a temperature controlled environment. For customers who do not want to do this, Plunge provides the following guidance, but does not guarantee that this will prevent damage under all freezing environmental conditions.

Required Supplies:

  • 1 Bottle of WINTER PRUF® Concentrate Antifreeze 32OZ. Click here to purchase
    • WARNING: This is the only antifreeze that is compatible with the Plunge system. The use of any other product may damage your Plunge and be hazardous for use in cold plunges.
  • Washcloth or Towel for Cleaning
  • Optional: Shop Vacuum to Remove Excess Solution
  • Garden Hose to drain system

Winterization Work Instructions:

  1. Pause the Plunge on the UI
  2. Once the system has fully paused, unplug the Plunge from the wall.
  3. Open the filter canister and remove the water filter
    • Clean the inside of the canister with a washcloth or towel to remove any residue.
  4. Fully drain the tub from the main drain. Clean the inside of the tub while it’s draining
    • Locate the main drain by removing the right side vent and it should be located at the bottom of the chiller

  5. After the tub has finished draining open the other drains to ensure the entire system is empty of water. There can be up to 2 other drains on your Plunge.
    • Open the jet side drain which is a long flex hose with a drain valve on the end. Locate this by opening the left side vent.
    • (There is a chance your Plunge model does not have this drain)

    • Open the winterizing drain line which is a thin plastic line that runs behind the chiller and the valve is located between the tub basin and the chiller. Locate this by opening the right side vent and searching behind the chiller.

  • Close the drain valves
  1. Aim both jets downward
  2. Pour some antifreeze concentrate into the o-ring groove at the top of the filter canister.

  1. Pour the entire container of antifreeze concentrate into the bottom of the filter canister, then reinstall the filter lid
  2. Fill the ani-freeze container with water, pour the water into the tub, repeat two more times.
    • There should be three parts water to one part anti-freeeze
  3. There should be a mixture of water and antifreeze in the bottom of the tub.

  1. Plug the tub back in and press the reset button to power it on.
  2. Turn the temperature of the Plunge up to 90 degrees on the UI so the chiller does not attempt to power on.
    • If the temperature is not increased and attempts to go into a chilling cycle while the pump is priming this can cause damage to the chiller. If the chiller is damaged due to this it will not be covered under warranty.
  3. The water pump will intermittently cycle on and off. This is normal as the pump is trying to prime and will be unable to with the low water level. Let the pump cycle the anti-freeze through the system for 10 minutes before turning off.
    • As long as the temperature is set to 90 degrees leaving the pump in priming mode will not harm the system.
    • This process will ensure antifreeze reaches deep into the inner workings of the pump and chiller.
  4. Briefly open each drain until the water turns pink, then close it and install the cap.
  5. Remove excess solution from the bottom of the tub with a shop vac, or with towels/rags if unavailable. Though the manufacturer states that the solution should not stain, this is to prevent residue from sticking to the tub.

  1. Install the spa cover, check to make sure the straps are tight and the lip of the cover lays flat against the outside of the tub.
  2. Unplug the GFCI from the wall and store in a dry location.
  3. Winterizing is complete
