No Water Flow / Water Pump Not Running - First Generation Plunge (Black Chiller)

If your First Generation Plunge (with the black chiller) has no water flow and the water pump is not turning on, this guide will help you identify whether the issue is caused by a failed water pump transformer, the pump itself, or a simple power issue.

This process is safe and takes just a few minutes.

Check the Water Pump Transformer

Your water pump is powered by a transformer mounted on the inside right wall of the electrical box.

1. Open the electrical box

Use a screwdriver to remove the cover and locate the transformer mounted on the right side.

2. Look for the green indicator light

You will see a small LED light on the transformer.

3. Is the green light ON or OFF?

Follow the path below that matches what you see:

If the Green Light is OFF

This usually indicates that the transformer has failed, or the outlet it’s plugged into may not be providing power.

Step A: Test the outlet

  1. Unplug the transformer from its current outlet

  2. Plug it into another outlet that you know is working

Step B: Check the green light again

  • Still OFF? → The transformer has failed

  • Turns ON? → The original outlet is faulty

If the transformer has failed

Your next step depends on which water pump model your Plunge has.

1. Identify your water pump model

The pump is mounted on the back wall of the tub and has a label with one of the following model numbers:

  • DC-60

  • DC-80

  • CJ07

If you have a DC-60 or DC-80 pump

We highly recommend upgrading to the CJ07 pump.
It has a much longer lifespan and improved performance.

If you prefer replacing only the transformer

If the Green Light is ON

This means the transformer is working correctly.

The next step is to test whether the water pump itself has failed.

Step A: Plug the pump into another power outlet

  1. Unplug the pump from the transformer

  2. Plug the pump into a different outlet you know works

Step B: Did the pump turn on?

  • YES: The issue is the original outlet or transformer port

  • NO: The water pump has failed and needs replacement

If the Water Pump Needs to Be Replaced

If your pump does not turn on after testing it with another outlet, it has failed and requires replacement.

Please contact Support so we can help you get the correct replacement pump for your plumbing setup.
