How to Level Your Sauna

Leveling is the very first step of sauna assembly and one of the most important. A level floor ensures the panels align correctly, the door hangs properly, and the sauna sits stable for years of use.

⚠ Important: Leveling must be completed before assembly begins. Once the sauna is built, it cannot be moved or releveled without disassembly. The leveling feet are designed for fine-tuning on a reasonably flat surface. They are not a substitute for a severely unlevel floor. Plunge requires the sauna to be assembled on a surface that is fundamentally level before the feet are adjusted.

Step 1: Prepare the Floor Panel

  1. Flip the floor panel upside down and locate the leveling feet. Confirm all feet are fully threaded in and sitting at an even height before you start. This gives you a consistent baseline to adjust from.
  2. Flip the floor back over and carry it to its final installation position. Once assembly begins, we do not recommend moving the sauna, so confirm you’re happy with the location before continuing.

Step 2: Level Left to Right

Place your level across the floor panel and take readings at three points along the front-to-back axis:

  • Front center
  • Middle center
  • Back center

Adjust the leveling feet as needed until all three readings show level from left to right.

Step 3: Level Front to Back

Now rotate your level and take readings at three points along the left-to-right axis:

  • Left center
  • Middle center
  • Right center

Adjust the leveling feet as needed until all three readings show level from front to back.

Note: Adjusting for front-to-back level may shift your left-to-right readings slightly. Go back and recheck both directions until all six measurement points are level.

Step 4: Confirm Stability

Step onto the floor panel and shift your weight around. It should feel solid and stable with no rocking or flexing. If any movement is noticeable, recheck the feet and make further adjustments until it feels firm underfoot.

Tip: A standard bubble level works perfectly for this. If you have a longer level, using it across the full width and length of the floor panel gives you the most accurate reading.
