Maintenance on Commercial Units

A sauna in a commercial setting sees significantly more use than a residential unit — more door cycles, more people, more heat cycles per day. That level of activity is totally normal, but it does mean a few components benefit from periodic checks to keep everything tight, safe, and performing well for your guests.

The tasks below are quick and require no special tools beyond a Phillips screwdriver and a hex key. Run through this checklist on a regular basis — every two weeks is a good cadence for most facilities, or more frequently during peak periods.

Maintenance Checklist

DoneTaskDetails
Door hinge boltsTighten the hinge bolts on the glass door with a hex key. Heavy door use gradually works these loose, and a loose hinge will cause the door to sag and eventually misalign with the frame.
Door handle boltsCheck and tighten the handle bolts on the glass door. High traffic loosens these over time, leading to a rattling handle. Snug them back down with a Phillips screwdriver.
Heater tower thumb screwsCheck the thumb screws securing the heater tower felt covers and tighten by hand as needed to keep them secure.
Control box ventilationInspect the mesh vent cover on the roof topper above the control box and clear any dust, debris, or obstructions. Blocked vents cause heat buildup and can trigger the HH over-temperature alarm.
Interior cleaningWipe down the bench, floor, walls, and glass. See the How to Clean Your Infrared Sauna guide for full cleaning instructions.

Tip: A quick visual inspection of the door, hinges, and handle at the start or end of each day takes less than a minute and helps you catch any loose parts.
