The out-of-warranty diagnostic fee is $135 and is not taxed. Plunge collects it before Support troubleshooting and Engineering review begin.
When the fee applies
The fee applies when the product is outside applicable coverage and Plunge must diagnose the issue, review evidence, or develop a repair path. It is waived for a covered 90-day repaired-component issue or when management approves an exception.
What the fee covers
- Support-led troubleshooting
- Review of the photos, videos, setup, and service history
- Engineering review when needed
- A recommended repair or replacement path
- A quote before you authorize parts or service
Refunds and credits
- The fee is refunded if you cancel before troubleshooting or Engineering work begins.
- It is not refunded only because Plunge cannot identify the problem, offer a repair, or service the product.
- If a repair moves forward, the fee may be credited toward eligible replacement parts. It is not credited toward technician labor.
- The parts credit expires 90 days after payment.
If the issue comes back
Plunge does not charge another diagnostic fee when the same ticket is reopened or the same symptom returns. A new fee may apply to a different symptom or a much later request when the original repair was not approved.
