Objective
If your UKU Controller is unable to connect to WiFi, it is typically due to an incorrect password or an issue with the WiFi network settings that do not meet the UKU Controller’s requirements.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to check your network and ensure a successful connection.
🚨 Important Note:
Plunge does not provide troubleshooting support for customer WiFi networks, routers, or modems. If you need help adjusting your network settings, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or a network specialist for assistance.
1. Verify Your WiFi Network Type
✅ The UKU Controller can only connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
- It does not support 5 GHz networks.
- If your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks share the same name (SSID), the connection may fail.
- To fix this, rename your networks so the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi have different names.
📌 How to Check:
- Open your WiFi settings on a smartphone or laptop.
- Look for separate WiFi networks (e.g., "MyWiFi_2.4GHz" and "MyWiFi_5GHz").
- If you only see one network name, log into your router settings and check if both bands are using the same name.
2. Confirm Your WiFi Signal Strength
📌 Important: The UKU Controller’s antenna is not as strong as the one in your smartphone or laptop.
Even if your phone or computer gets a good signal near your sauna, the UKU Controller may struggle to connect if the signal is weak.
Test the WiFi Signal Strength Using a Mobile Hotspot
If your mobile device has a strong cellular signal near the sauna, you can test the UKU Controller's ability to connect by using a mobile hotspot:
- Turn on your mobile hotspot (make sure it’s using a 2.4 GHz connection if applicable).
- Ensure the hotspot is placed close to the sauna.
- Connect the UKU Controller to the hotspot instead of your home WiFi network.
- Check if the UKU Controller successfully connects.
✅ If the UKU Controller connects to the hotspot but not your home WiFi, this suggests a signal strength issue with your home network.
- Try moving your WiFi router closer to the sauna.
- Consider installing a WiFi extender to boost the signal strength.
- Avoid placing the router behind thick walls or metal surfaces, as they can block the signal.
3. Check Your WiFi Network Name (SSID) and Password
✅ Ensure your WiFi network name (SSID) is visible.
- The UKU Controller cannot connect to hidden networks.
- If your network is hidden, log into your router settings and enable SSID broadcasting.
✅ Make sure your WiFi name (SSID) and password meet the following requirements:
- They must be 20 characters or fewer.
- Do not use special characters (e.g., @, %, $, &) in the network name or password—these may cause connection issues.
📌 Double-check your password entry:
- Ensure you are entering the correct WiFi password—incorrect passwords are a common reason for failed connections.
- Type the password carefully, checking for uppercase and lowercase letters.
4. Try Connecting Again
After verifying your network type, signal strength, and credentials, attempt to reconnect the UKU Controller to WiFi.
