Error Messages on my Sauna Controller

  • Updated

Objective

If you see an error message on the display of your HUUM UKU Controller, it means the sauna has detected an issue that needs to be addressed before it can function properly.

Below is a breakdown of the three possible error messages, what they mean, and links to step-by-step troubleshooting guides to help resolve the issue.

1. Temperature Sensor Input Error

๐Ÿ“Œ What This Means:
The temperature sensor in your sauna is not detecting a proper reading. This may be due to:

  • A loose or damagedย temperature sensor wire
  • A damaged or faulty sensor
  • Anย electricalย issue

2. Door Open Error

๐Ÿ“Œ What This Means:
The door sensor in your sauna is designed to prevent the heater from operating when the door is open.

How the Door Sensor Works

The door sensor operates using two components:

  1. A small square magnet
  2. A magnetic probe

When the sauna door is closed, the magnet aligns with the probe, creating a connection that signals the UKU Controller that the door is closed. This allows the heater to power on.

When the sauna door is opened, the magnet moves away from the probe, breaking the connection. This prevents the heater from running when the door is open.

Possible Causes of a Door Open Error

If you receive a Door Open Error, it may be due to:

  • ๐Ÿ”น Magnet misalignment โ€“ The magnet may have shifted out of position and is no longer making a proper connection with the probe when the door is closed.
  • ๐Ÿ”น Loss of magnetization โ€“ The magnet or probe may have lost its ability to create a strong connection.
  • ๐Ÿ”น Sauna door not fully closed โ€“ Ensure the door is shutting completely and making full contact.
  • ๐Ÿ”น Wiring or harness connector issues โ€“ A loose or damaged connection may be preventing proper sensor communication.
  • ๐Ÿ”น Miscommunication between the sensor and the UKU Controller โ€“ The controller may not be receiving the correct signal from the door sensor.

3. Safety Equipment Failure Error

๐Ÿ“Œ What This Means:
The Safety Equipment Failure Error is a built-in setting in the UKU Controller that is not required for your Plunge Sauna.

๐Ÿ’ก Why You Can Safely Disable This Setting
Plunge has worked directly with HUUM on the design of our sauna, and this specific setting is not necessary for our product.

To use your sauna, you will need to deactivate this setting in the UKU Controller.
