Continuity Test for Sauna

  • Updated

Objective

This work instruction guides users on how to perform a continuity test on their sauna. This test helps determine whether an electrical circuit is complete or broken, which can help identify potential wiring or component issues preventing the sauna from operating correctly.

Tools Required

  • Screwdriver
  • T25 Bit (Mini Model only, for electrical box cover removal)
  • Multimeter tool (set to Continuity Mode or 20 Ohms (Ω) in resistance mode)

Prerequisites

✅ Ensure the sauna is powered off before conducting this test.
✅ Set your multimeter to continuity mode (or 20 Ohms (Ω) in resistance mode).
Understanding Your Readings:

  • If using continuity mode, listen for a beep or observe the screen for a reading.
  • If using Ohms (Ω) mode, set your multimeter to 20 Ohms (Ω) and record the resistance value shown on the screen.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Remove the Cover of the Electrical Box

XL & Standard Models:

  • Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the cover mounted on the outside of the heater panel.
  • (Insert image: Electrical box cover removal on XL & Standard models.)

Mini Model:

  • Use a T25 Bit to remove the cover mounted inside the heater panel under the footrest.
  • (Insert image: Electrical box cover removal on Mini Model.)

2. Remove the HUUM Main Module Cover

  • Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the HUUM Main Module cover for all models.
  • (Insert image: HUUM Main Module cover removal.)

3. Run the Continuity Test

⚠️ Important:

  • The sauna must be powered off before performing this test.
  • Set the multimeter to continuity mode or 20 Ohms (Ω) in resistance mode.
  • (Insert image: Multimeter correctly set to 20 Ohms (Ω) in resistance mode.)

Test the Following Connections & Record Your Readings:

  1. Test Terminals 1 & 2

    • Place the multimeter probes on Terminals 1 & 2.
    • If using continuity mode, note whether the multimeter beeps or displays a reading.
    • If using Ohms (Ω) mode, record the resistance value displayed.

  2. Test Terminals 2 & 3

    • Place the multimeter probes on Terminals 2 & 3.
    • If using continuity mode, note whether the multimeter beeps or displays a reading.
    • If using Ohms (Ω) mode, record the resistance value displayed.

  3. Test Terminals 3 & 4

    • Place the multimeter probes on Terminals 3 & 4.
    • If using continuity mode, note whether the multimeter beeps or displays a reading.
    • If using Ohms (Ω) mode, record the resistance value displayed.

4. Submit Test Results

📸 Required Documentation:

  • Take clear photos of the multimeter display showing the continuity readings for each test.
  • Write down the results in the following format:

🔍 Continuity Test Results:

  • Terminals 1 & 2 = [Insert Result]
  • Terminals 2 & 3 = [Insert Result]
  • Terminals 3 & 4 = [Insert Result]
  • Terminals 4 & 5 = [Insert Result]

Next Steps: Submitting Your Results

  1. Create a support ticket

    • If you haven’t already, please submit a support request using our Contact Form.
    • Once your ticket is submitted, you will receive an email with a link to upload your required photos and submit your test results.
  2. Email your written continuity test results

    • Reply to the support email with the following test results:

📌 Why This Is Important: These readings help determine if there is a wiring or connection issue preventing your sauna from operating correctly.
