Start by identifying your chiller: Standard or Pro. Then determine whether the moisture is condensation or ongoing water loss.
Stop and unplug the chiller for uncontrolled water loss, water in an electrical area, visible coolant, a hot plug, burning smell, buzzing, arcing, or melting.
1. Rule out condensation
- Mark the tub water line.
- Dry the chiller, hoses, filter housing, and floor.
- Leave the tub unused and do not add water for 24 hours.
- If the level stays the same, the moisture is likely condensation or splash-out.
2. Check external connections
With the chiller fully off, inspect the visible hose connections, filter housing, lid, O-ring, and hair strainer. Do not disconnect hoses. Do not change a valve position while the chiller is running.
3. Check the filter housing
- Standard: turn the chiller fully off before following the published Standard filter procedure.
- Pro: pause or turn off the chiller and follow the published Pro filter procedure.
Use a clean, correctly seated filter; clean the O-ring groove; and hand-tighten the housing. Stop if the housing cross-threads or resists.
4. Capture the leak
From a safe distance, record the full setup and the first wet point after circulation resumes. Do not remove a powered cover or touch internal components.
