If your Plunge All-In or Evolve Pro chiller is showing the error code “FF”, your unit is in a protective state to prevent any permanent damage to your Cold Plunge. It is the result of your unit’s water flow being fully restricted.
How we prevent your unit from being damaged:
- The UI will flash the FF error with the actual water temperature and will run the pump at half speed.
- The chiller will stop chilling and you will not be able to change the set point below 50° F.
How to resolve this issue:
- Pause your unit
- Check that all ball valves are in the open position - Parallel to the piping
- Ensure there are no blockages on the intake drains
- Change your filter - How to: Change your filter
- Unpause your unit
- Wait 5 minutes for the system to reset and circulate water.
- The FF error code will resolve itself if your flow is back within a normal range
- If this does not resolve, please submit a ticket with assets here. Check to make sure your unit is connected on the Plunge App.
At Setup or Water Exchange:
- If the jets are not running and the pump will not prime, perform a filter air purge after ensuring the above steps are completed
- If this does not resolve, please submit a ticket with assets here.
WARNING - Do not remove your filter and run your unit!
Even briefly running your unit without a filter can permanently damage the water pump and chiller, which will void your warranty. Your flow rate will exceed the maximum range, resulting in a ~$3,000 replacement cost not covered by your warranty. It's not worth the risk!
